Volunteers

The services of MUCCC could not be offered without the support and hard work of the team of volunteers.

Mid Ulster Child contact Centre is managed by a committee of volunteers representing the local community, voluntary and statutory organisations (including Sure Start, Women's Aid, NHSSB).  This committee meets monthly and oversees the running of the centre.

MUCCC has achieved the National Association of Child Contact Centre's Certificate of Accreditation.

The volunteers are recruited from the wider community, both male and female, the bring a variety of skills and experience that creates a strong and effective team.

All volunteers are vetted in accordance with the requirements of ACCESS NI to ensure their suitability to work with children and young people.

Training of our volunteers is ongoing and to date volunteers have attended training on:

  • Child Protection
  • First Aid
  • Conflict Resolution (Accredited)
  • Health & Safety
  • The Needs of the Child Following Separation and Divorce
  • The Reluctant Child
  • Domestic Violence

A rota is made out every three months and volunteers are asked to commit to one contact session per month.  For most volunteers this would be one session every 4-5 weeks.

If you think you would like to be a volunteer with MUCCC, please contact the Coordinator on 028 8676 7777 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
